I'm Susan Marie Pesch, a family law attorney licensed since 1991 and focused exclusively on family law since 1993.
Family transitions are some of the most consequential moments in a person's life. My job is to make sure you understand your options, know what to expect, and have someone with real experience in your corner from the first conversation to the final order.

I made a deliberate choice to stay solo and keep my caseload manageable. That means when you hire me, you get me. Not a paralegal, not a junior associate, not a rotating team of staff who don't know your file. I handle every motion, every negotiation, every court appearance personally.
That level of attention is a structural decision I made about how to practice law, and I've held to it for more than three decades.
I also made an early commitment to a "families in transition" philosophy rather than the adversarial posture common in family law. Divorce and custody matters don't have to be wars. When the other side is reasonable, I pursue resolution. When they're not, I litigate, and I'm prepared to do both.

What I Focus On
My practice covers the full range of Colorado family law matters, including contested and uncontested divorce, high-asset and gray divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities, child support, spousal maintenance, grandparents' family time under the Aaliyah and Myah Act, civil protection orders, modifications, contempt proceedings, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and matters involving unmarried parents and paternity.
I serve clients across the Front Range and mountain communities, including Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, Weld County, Adams County, and Summit, Eagle, and Grand Counties.
My Approach to Representing Parents and Families
Children's best interests are not a legal standard I apply mechanically, they're the lens through which I evaluate every custody and parenting time decision. I work with parenting coaches, recommend counseling resources when appropriate, and have experience with tools like the Split co-parenting app that help families manage transitions after a case closes.
I also believe clients deserve to understand what's happening in their own case. I explain Colorado law in plain terms, walk through the realistic range of outcomes, and give you the information you need to make decisions, not just instructions to follow.
